How you’ll contribute

The Associate Patient Support Program Director plays a key role in supporting the build, implementation and launch management of our patient support programs, the goal of which is to support patients utilizing a United Therapeutics' product throughout their health journey. This individual will be responsible for launch initiatives, ongoing program management, content planning and oversight to support of all programs within our umbrella of patient support services. This individual will report to the Senior Director Patient Strategy and Planning.

  • Develop the process maps / operational models for all new programs and enhancements

  • Implement key elements of the patient support program strategic vision

  • Collaborate with access and affordability team to ensure programs are fully integrated into our end-to-end patient journey

  • Develop and maintain scorecards and dashboards for all program implementations

  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of business rules, work instructions, and SOPs. Effectively partner with legal and compliance teams for alignment and approval.

  • Collaborate with brand teams to translate brand strategic plans into operational and tactical plans

  • Leverage patient journey subject matter expertise, operational performance, and evolving industry trends to identify areas of improvement and develop action plans to address

  • Collaborate with departmental training lead to ensure clear training objectives and measures of success for all program rollouts and enhancements

  • Collaborate with field sales training on program messaging and training objectives related to patient support programs

  • Use data and analytical dashboards to identify and act on program performance trends

  • All other duties as required

  • All Patient Relations activities will be performed in a manner that is consistent with and compliant with all laws and company policies

For this role you will need

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences, business, or a related field with 12+ years of relevant experience, including progressive people leadership/management experience/leading effective teams

  • Master's Degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, including progressive people leadership/management experience/leading effective teams

  • Knowledge and direct experience of patient support programs, case management, and adherence program designs

  • Understanding of access and affordability programs (e.g., copay assistance, insurance, and access, etc.)

  • Experience managing complex projects or programs

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with patients, healthcare professionals, and cross-functional teams

  • Strong understanding of CRM and related Patient Support Services technologies

  • Demonstrated ability to partner with legal, regulatory, and compliance partners to ensure the highest level of program compliance and monitoring

  • Empathy, compassion, and a patient-centric mindset to provide the best possible support and care

  • Ability to travel up to 20%

  • Position to be located out of our RTP, NC location.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in life sciences, business, or a related field

  • Specialty pharmacy / channel operations experience

  • Experience with Salesforce or Healthcloud CRM platforms

  • Experience with text or chat HIPPA compliant communication methods

  • Experience with Tableau or similar business intelligence tools

  • Rare disease and / or complex therapy administration experience
