How you’ll contribute

Overview

Our IT Strategic Planning Operations (SPO) team is looking for an experienced Senior IT Project Manager. In this role, you will assist in the planning and execution of IT projects having an internal focus from initiation through delivery. Additionally, you will organize cross-functional activities, ensuring completion of the project while adhering to the budget, schedule and quality parameters. You will also serve as an in-house project consultant for evaluating needs and vendor requests for proposal, as well as plan and direct the implementation efforts to support various product, service, and process launches.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • Support the strategic planning of multi-year initiatives that may involve multiple inter-relationships and complexities, requiring the development and execution of complex communication and management plans to achieve

  • Direct large-scale, complex programs and projects, often involving multiple internal and external constituents and partners

  • Manage multiple competing objectives and communicates complex technical information in clear and unambiguous terms to management and end-users

  • Directly manage all aspects of the project life cycle and oversee all phases of a project

  • Collaborate with internal & external partners to gather business requirements and develop project plans

  • Obtain agreements on project definitions, scope, and priorities to ensure that resources, capabilities, and processes are in place

  • Rigorously manage scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost and quality parameters

  • Drive multiple projects from initiation through delivery ensuring completion of the project, within defined and agreed upon parameters

  • Make judgments and take reasonable action required to accomplish agreed upon project objectives under general guidance

  • Solicit technological input from technical resources assigned to their respective project teams and facilitate technology problem-solving activities

  • Define and track project milestones while developing, maintaining and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan

  • Develop the project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan, and related project management artifacts

  • Develop communication plans and interfaces to execute on responsibilities

  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends

  • Identify risks and vulnerabilities and create contingency plans

  • Conduct regularly scheduled steering committee meetings and project reviews to review project status updates, risks, vulnerabilities, and dependencies, to obtain approvals and decisions as needed

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on different aspects of assigned initiatives while briefing key stakeholders

  • Represent the project in various project governance and inter-department forums

  • Propose recommendations and adjustments, as needed

  • Validate financial forecasts, cost assumptions and provides on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures

  • Strictly adhere to the budget management and guidelines of both the Information Technology department and the enterprise

  • Support ongoing adoption and continued evolution of a ‘Project-Focused’ culture within the IT department

  • Establish plans and schedules for entire projects, and keep management informed of deviations from plans and schedules

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to find the best solutions, assess impact of decisions on each of the functional areas and propose resolutions

  • Ensure adherence to IT’s processes, demonstrates a high-level understanding of UTC business processes

  • Excellent communication skills targeting specific audiences

  • Perform other duties as assigned

For this role you will need

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or IT discipline

  • PMP & ITIL certification

  • Business analyst certification

  • 4+ year of experience IT project management experience

  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Mac and PC platforms, as well as, expertise in Microsoft O365, Microsoft Office, and other productivity tools

  • Ability to travel in short notice up to 20% (domestic and foreign)
