Clinical Nurse Educator (Southern US – TX, AK, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, VA, NC, SC, GA, FL)
The CNE is an educational resource for clinical development and medical information, with a focus on: supporting the use of our medicines (approved and experimental) through the education and training of healthcare providers participating in Company–Sponsored clinical studies; providing clinical support to Global Medical Information to respond to requests for information; and providing clinical feedback/training to various internal departments across the organization. Successful candidate will reside within the assigned territory (southern US – TX, AK, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, VA, NC, SC, GA, FL) and near a major airport.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Assist the Clinical Operations team, as directed by manager, with clinical site education around current Company Sponsored studies. Educational topics may include: disease state, adverse effect mitigation, device utilization and dosing, among others.
In response to an RFI, support physicians, nurses and other allied healthcare professionals in the Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) space with all aspects of PAH education including disease state and PAH therapies. Support may extend to practical guidance on appropriate UT product administration techniques and patient follow-up based on good clinical practice.
Respond to off-label non-solicited requests per current policies.
Identify educational gaps that exist at clinical sites and work to increase awareness.
When requested, provide healthcare professionals with the latest information and techniques associated with therapy initiation of a UT product, adverse effect mitigation, device utilization, and dosing, among others.
Attend and participate in pertinent programs related to UT products and disease states as directed by manager to maintain high level competency.
Maintains basic understanding of current regulatory requirements, including GCPs.
Assists with the creation of presentations of clinical research study information and preparation of training materials for investigational sites, in-house employees and new hires.
Maintains regular internal contact with departments such as data management, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, corporate compliance (eg PRB), pre-clinical and drug safety, providing clinical feedback and training from a medical affairs perspective, when required.
Perform other duties or support special projects as directed by the Program Director.
Minimum Education and Experience Required
Minimum of 2 years working experience in PAH with a total of 5+ years in nursing clinical practice and/or biotech or pharma experience
Minimum degree of RN or BSN required
Education and Experience Preferred
- Previous clinical research experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work as part of a larger team
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Strong teaching and presentation skills
Project Management skills are preferred
Nursing License (active in one State)
Current driver’s license
Ability to travel 60% or more as needed
